UMBUG (Univ of Manchester Bicycle Users Group)

Monthly Cycle To Work

On the first Wednesday of the month, volunteers start from numerous places around the region to help guide new and experienced cyclists along safe routes to the University environs. The rides all join up centrally where you can exchange ideas and hear the latest news, all over free refreshments!

The routes leave at various points meeting up over breakfast from 8:20am until 9am. Click on the nearest route to you to find out more.

If you don't live near a route or wish to cycle your own way to work then you're still welcome to come and join us and have some free refreshments - just pop along!

The next ride is Weds 2nd May 2012 with breakfast at Geoffrey Manton Refectory MMU, which is building no. 8 on this map

Everybody attending also gets entered in to a free raffle

The rides and breakfast are for all those working or studying at the Higher Education Precinct (HEP), which is made up of The University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University, The Central Manchester NHS Trust & Royal Northern College of Music.

Our Regular Rides

Our most popular rides are run every month. You can just turn up at any of the pick-up points - most routes now have a map to help show where these are

Additional Routes Available Upon Request

cyclist Some rides are less popular, for example due to being further away or the route guides frequently have work commitments on the first Weds of the month. The route guides are happy to run these if there's demand. If you are interested please contact us <michael.bane@manchester.ac.uk> by the Monday immediately before the proposed ride and we'll do our best to get somebody to ride with you
