20 June 2012: ANNUAL BIKE EVENT. Our annual bike event will be held during National Bike Week 2012. If you're interested in helping out as a route guide (training available!) then please email umbug@manchester.ac.uk.

6 June 2012: CYCLE TO WORK. Join one of the monthly cycle to work routes or just come along to meet other cyclists at the free breakfast.

Monthly Rides



On the first Wednesday of every month, volunteers start from numerous places around the region and guide new and experienced cyclists along safe routes to the University. The rides all join up centrally for a free breakfast where you can meet other cyclists, exchange ideas and hear the latest news. You can read more about the monthly cycle to work here. Sustainability at the University of Manchester. The University is committed to reducing its environmental impact and actively supports and promotes travel by sustainable means. Find out more about cycling on the University's sustainability web pages.

Student Union Bike Hire Scheme: Biko Bikes. Biko Bikes is a Student Union scheme whereby abandoned bicycles are donated by Security, refurbished and then hired out to students. Read more about Biko Bikes.

Good quality D-locks for only £15. The University has launched a new bike lock scheme which will enable all current staff and student cyclists to access good quality D-locks for only £15. Read more about the bike lock scheme. You can read about other University cycle security initiatives here.
